CJ Nafus is the single greatest teaching professional I’ve ever worked with, period! Quick story, it’s early June 2019 and I’ve just returned from our annual Florida golf trip. The trip was terrific, my golf game was less than acceptable. I’ve been playing for over 40 years and, outside of brief stretches of inspired respectability, the game has been a challenge.

I’ve worked with countless teaching professionals but to no avail. On the plane home, I made a promise to stop with the never-ending lessons and new teaching professionals. It was time for me to work alone, hone whatever swing I could and just move forward with limited expectations.

So, there I am back in New Jersey on the range. I’m fulfilling my promise of going it alone!

CJ is on the other end of the range giving a lesson to a fellow member. Unbeknownst to me, he takes notice and after his lesson is completed, comes down to say hello and share pleasantries.

During our conversation, CJ naturally asks about the trip and how’s my game. I share my struggles and new approach to independence. Although we have never worked together, he’s seen my swing and has a solid understanding of my current game and potential.

CJ politely shares he’s highly confident he could meaningfully improve my swing in a brief period. Old habits die hard, so I immediately took him up on the offer and schedule our first lesson later that week.

Bottom line, my game REALLY improved immediately. His teaching method is simple, understandable, repeatable. It’s a swing you can take from the range to the course. It’s a swing you understand. It makes sense. Not a lot of moving parts. It’s a swing that’s easy to trust and replicate when competing. Yes, you’ll hit the ball farther. Yes, you’ll hit it straighter. Consistently hitting the ball of the center of the club face, online to the target is really fun!

As you would expect, I only work with CJ. My regular playing partners are genuinely in awe of my improvement. It’s really a transformation. I’ve gone from carding most rounds in the high 90’s to currently flirting with breaking 80.

CJ is an incredible young man with an extremely bright future. He has a unique teaching approach that works. Mark my words, he will soon be regarded as one of the most sought after and respected teaching professionals in the world.
